Application:

Always measure your components with a bucket rather than with a shovel. Thoroughly compact concrete into place. Mix thoroughly using just enough water to obtain correct workability. Note that excess water will decrease the strength of your mortar, concrete, plaster mix. If using steel reinforcement ensure that it is well covered. Do not overwork the surface when obtaining final finish as this will weaken the surface.

Curing:

It is recommended that all products containing General Purpose Cement be cured for a minimum period of 7 days. Typical methods such as ponding, curing blankets and curing membranes are recommended. The curing process should begin as soon as the concrete surface can receive the curing method chosen. The practice of curing will enable concrete to reach its potential strength. It will reduce the potential for plastic cracking and improve surface durability and overall quality i.e. improved abrasion resistance, impermeability and a reduction in carbonation rate.

Limitations:

  • The success of any project involving GP Cement is dependent on a variety of factors. Attention must be given to batching, mixing, selection of aggregates & admixtures, placing, finishing, curing and formwork.

Storage:

Cemix® GP Cement has a shelf life of Portland cement products is dependent on the storage conditions. It is necessary for bagged Portland cement to be stored in dry conditions and protected from rain, dew or any other moisture source. Bagged cement that has hardened or is lumpy as a result of exposure to moisture should not be used.

Cleaning:

Clean all tools with water & brush immediately after use.

Precaution:
