Cemix Companies Mix together

The two CEMIX companies have joined together under one roof in a major restructuring of the construction products outfit.

From 1st March 2008, the two arms of the company - Cemix Construction Products in Swanson Waitakere, and Cemix Drimix Division in Onehunga - will be one at the 19 Alfred Street Onehunga premises.

General Manager Bhav Dhillon said the operation would be completed by 1st April. " The move to join both arms is to give our valued customers a single point of contact," Said Dhillon. "Its a streamlining move, in line with our customer centric approach, and thus will make things easier for the customer".

The state of the art Onehunga Dry Mix plant is the most modern in Australasia, Dhillon said, with the technology imported from Finland, Holland and Japan.

CEMIX owns the 1.2 hectare site at Onehunga in Central Auckland and will be building new warehousing in the future.

There were no redundancies in the restructuring, with six staff moving from Swanson to join the 14 staff at Onehunga.

CEMIX is one of NZ's most trusted construction products company in operation for over 30 years. According to Dhillon, two of its best known products, CEMPLUS - the plasticiser and CEMKEY - the bonding agent, have reached generic brand status and are market leaders.
